Not all charter boats in our area operate on the high level of ethics that we do. It is important to know before you book:Capt. Woody

  • As a FULL-TIME Professional Charter Boat Captain (one of very few in area); Captain Woody Gore has fished for over 50 years and spends an average of 200 plus days a year on the water. As a Full-Time Professional Capt. Gore grounded his business on the highest level of “Excellent Customer Service, referrals and return business. So, if you’re looking for WORLD CLASS and MEMORABLE fishing adventures; you will not be disappointed in his determination to make each trip an enjoyable and entertaining experience.
  • Unlike many part-time captains with primary employment and benefits; Woody does not have the distractions of another job. He makes his living and supports his family only from charter fishing. You will often find him on the water, sometimes running 1 or 2 trips daily, this allows him to know exactly where the fish are biting.
  • He is the owner and operator of his guide service. In ALL cases you will speak directly with Captain Woody when booking your charter. He is not a booking service that puts you on any boat with an inexperienced or unseasoned captain that simply inflates the charter price and takes a cut of the money. You will be fishing with Captain Woody on Captain Woody’s boat using top of the line tackle and bait.
  • We have heard awful stories about other guides who get mad at the first lost fish or tangled line. Captain Woody is easy-going and looks forward to fishing with and if needed helping you learn more about fishing. He uses a straight forward approach, all you have to do is listen and learn. Soon you will experience the thrill of a lifetime… catching fish.
  • When you reserve a charter with Captain Woody and the weather prevents you from safely enjoying a day on the water, your deposit is 100% refundable. Beware that many local guides try taking you out in unsafe weather conditions. We want you to enjoy the beautiful weather as well as the fishing that our area offers. Captain Woody will not jeopardize your safety for any reason.
  • To introduce our future anglers to the best sport in the world, Captain Woody offers charters specifically tailored to children Captain Woody takes pride in keeping children engaged throughout the trip and would be honored to put your child on the fish of a lifetime.

In building my fishing guide business over the past 20 years I’ve discovered that customers remember good customer service much longer than they remember price. So, if you’re shopping price; you might save $25 bucks by hiring a less experienced part-time guide. However, you might also sacrifice customer service, safety, and professionalism, not to mention fishing knowledge, comfort, equipment and overall attention to detail. My charter rates below are competitive with other full-time professionals in the area.

Don’t leave your fishing adventure to chance, only to have it turn into a bad day on the water. Sadly, many of our competitors don’t always practice customer service and put their clients first, which led to many or our current customers to choosing Captain Woody instead of returning to other local services. Captain Woody is very enthusiastic about his guide service and strives to exceed all expectations from the moment you meet to the end of your charter and our personal service doesn’t stop there.
